Power Dynamos Crowned 2025/26 MTN Super League Champions

Published On: June 3, 2026

Power Dynamos have capped off a remarkable 2025/26 MTN Super League season, a campaign defined by consistency, resilience, dominance and collective ambition.

The Kitwe giants were officially crowned champions for the ninth time, successfully defending their league title and making it three league championships in four seasons. This back-to-back triumph confirmed Power Dynamos’ continued rise as one of the most consistent and competitive clubs in Zambian football.

The champions finished the campaign with an impressive 78 points from 34 matches, recording 23 wins, nine draws and just two defeats. Power scored 53 goals, conceded just 18 and kept 20 clean sheets, a record that reflects both attacking quality and defensive discipline.

The achievement also marks a significant step forward from the previous season, when the club accumulated 68 points. The 10-point improvement underlines the Club’s commitment to continuous growth and its determination to keep raising standards both on and off the pitch.

The season was further marked by participation in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League, where the Club reached the group stage, demonstrating its ambition to compete beyond domestic football. While the journey came with challenges, including not being able to host CAF Champions League matches on home turf, the experience offered valuable lessons that will inform the Club’s growing continental ambitions.

Speaking at the Coronation Party held at Arthur Davies Stadium on May 24, 2026, Club Patron, Eng. Owen Silavwe, represented by the Chief Projects Officer, Eng. Vincent Nyirenda, described the Club’s back-to-back title triumph and three league titles in four seasons as a remarkable milestone built on hard work, dedication and resilience. He also noted that works had commenced to upgrade Arthur Davies Stadium from Category A to Category B under CAF standards, while medium-to-long-term plans would see the stadium’s seating capacity increased from the current 8,000 to 25,000 to accommodate the Club’s growing fan base.

And Club President, Eng. Benny Simukoko, said the ninth league title was not only a celebration of success, but also a reflection of commitment, sacrifice, unity and greatness.

He paid tribute to the players, technical bench, supporters, EXCOM, subcommittees, sponsors and partners, stating that winning back-to-back championships was proof of consistency, character and excellence, while pledging that the Club would continue working towards even greater achievements.

The Club also celebrated the success of its wider football structures, with the Under-18 Academy Team and Power Queens being crowned champions of their respective zones. Their success highlighted the Club’s broader development agenda and commitment to building a strong future across all levels.

Power Dynamos also capped off the campaign by celebrating outstanding performers at the Club’s 2025/26 Awards Gala, held in collaboration with Garden Court Kitwe.

Moses Shumah emerged as one of the biggest winners of the night after claiming three awards: Top Scorer, Fans’ Player of the Season and Footballer of the Year. Shumah’s 21 league goals, consistency and outstanding contribution made him a standout performer throughout the campaign.

Kondwani Chiboni also enjoyed a memorable night after being named Most Consistent Player and Players’ Player of the Season, a reflection of the respect he commands within the squad.

Other Club award winners included Fredrick Mulambia, who was named Most Disciplined Player, Chifundo Mphasi as Most Improved Player, Willard Mwanza and Lawrence Mulenga as joint Golden Glove winners, Aaron Katebe with the Club President’s Award, and Kofi Boyd Tiza as Most Dedicated Official.

Power Dynamos further underlined their dominance at the 2025/26 MTN Super League Awards, where the Club walked away with five accolades.

Shumah claimed the Golden Boot after scoring 21 league goals and also won the Fans’ Player of the Year Award. Head Coach Osward Mutapa was named Coach of the Year, successfully defending the award he won last season.

Midfielder Fredrick Mulambia was named Most Disciplined Player of the Season, while Kennedy “Yellow Man” Chishala was recognised as Fan of the Year.

The Club was also nominated in the Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Photographer of the Year categories, with the awards going to Albert Kangwanda, Mangani Banda and Limbikani Mtonga of Red Arrows, Kabwe Warriors and Nchanga Rangers respectively.

In August this year, Power Dynamos will return to the CAF Champions League to represent Zambia in the 2026/2027 season, following their impressive run to the group stage in the just-ended 2025/2026 campaign.
